Fill Up Your Days & Thanksgiving Thursday

"Fill your days with love, laughter, exploration, learning and simply soaking it all in." ~Mama Hen
Little Chick's summer vacation has been filled with many fun adventures. I love memberships to wonderful places like the aquarium and the zoo. We love to pack our lunches and head to one of our favorite destinations to explore and simply have fun. On Sunday we spent the day at our local zoo. It was a beautiful day and we were able to catch a music show by Chris Rowlands, which I highly reccomend his music. He teaches children to love and care for the earth. We bought a couple of his CD's and have not stopped listening to them. Little Chick is in love with the Pygmy Marmosets! They really are the cutest little monkeys. We ended the day by meeting Grandma Hen and some friends at the lake and having dinner there. Of course we had to stop for some ice cream to complete the fantastic Sunday! We decided to head back to the zoo on Tuesday for lunch and ended up seeing another Chris Rowlands show. It was so much fun! Yeterday we spent the day at the aquarium (I took a break from taking pictures) and watched the wonderful IMAX movie, Born To Be Wild. Little Chick was so concerned about the elephants and the orangatangs. I really think we have a future environmental/animal protection hero in the making. I love filling our days with a whole bunch of love, plenty of giggles and spectacular adventures!
Little Chick loves to dance!
Fun at the carousel.
Golden Lion Tamarins
Of course we have to feed the goats.

Candle for God & Little Chick's 6th Tooth

"Mommy, we have to light a candle for God."
~Little Chick
On Friday we went to Manhattan with my good friend Geri, her friend and of course Little Chick's doll. She was so excited to get her doll's hair done at The American Doll Store. A couple of years back Geri had gotten Little Chick the doll. We went into the city together and she got to pick it out. Now it has become something really fun for us all. While we were on the train Little Chick said, "Mommy, we have to light a candle for God." Every time we go to the city we always go to Saint Patrick's Cathedral to light candles and say prayers for my Dad, our little puppies and all the people we love. I loved hearing my daughter tell me that she was so excited to light a candle for God. Each time she lit one she placed her hands together and said a prayer. It was so sweet and beautiful. Last night Little Chick lost her 6th tooth! Now both of her front teeth are missing. Little Chick's tooth fairy, Oceana Wavey, makes her second trip in one month. It has been so much fun the past few days!

Thanksgiving Thursday and Abundant Blessings

"Thank you dear Lord for your abundant blessings. They brighten our journey and fill our souls with utmost joy." ~Mama Hen

We have had such abundant blessings the past few days. We enjoyed going to the zoo with good friends yesterday morning and then topped off the beautiful day with dinner at the beach. I then met my dear friend for our first Mom's Night Out in four years. We have talked about it and finally we were able to get together. It was such a fun night! Today Little Chick and I headed North to our beach house for a beautiful (very hot 99 degrees) day at the beach. Happy Thanksgiving Thursday!

Perfect Day at the Beach

"Fresh breeze, warm sun, salty air, family, friends and sharing laughter. It doesn't get better than this!" ~Mama Hen
We enjoyed a perfect day at the beach yesterday with family and friends. We spent hours simply enjoying one another's company and the magnificent weather! The kids had fun and Little Chick loved having her Grandma Hen, Auntie and best buddy there at the same time at our favorite place - the beach! It was a perfect day!

Life is a Carnival

"Life is one big carnival!
Hop on that ride and enjoy it with all your enthusiasm."
~Mama Hen
Little Chick loves fairs and she was so excited to go to her first one for the season. She was ecstatic that she could ride the roller coaster by herself for the first time and that she was tall enough to go on the flying swings. She was sacred at first, but her determination got her through and then she went back several times for more. It was another fabulous day filled with fun and plenty of giggles!
