"Give thanks each and every day. Never lose sight that each moment is a blessing and each day the grandest of gifts." ~Mama Hen
Little Chick is a gift to all of God's living creatures. She spends at least two hours a day feeding hay and treats to the horses at the farm where she rides. Recently three malnourished neglected horses were brought to the farm and Little Chick has made it her mission to love them back to health. We went to our local apple orchard and picked up a huge crate of apples so we can bring treats to them every day. I love watching my daughter take care of these horses and if it weren't for dinner time she would never leave them. There is one horse in particular that tugs at my heart. He is very skinny and we make sure to give him as much hay and treats as possible. Grandma Hen came with us to the farm the other day to meet all of Little Chick's buddies. We had so much fun today with our first snow for the season! Of course we went sledding and topped it off with some hot cocoa! There is so much to be thankful for! Thank you Dear Lord!
Isn't this snow crazy??!! I'm not ready for it yet (especially since we're still cleaning up from Sandy!).
ReplyDeleteLittle Chick is going to save the world one day! Such a great big heart.
What a great experience for her!!! Wow that's a lot of apples!!! The snow looks pretty! We are getting some tonight. I want some of the hot chocolate....looks so good!
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet photos of Little Chick taking those horses' health very seriously. It is a good sign when children care for God's creatures. What a little worker! You are so right, each day is a blessing. Glad you enjoyed your first snow. Please don't let it get this far west. lol
