Thanksgiving Thursday

"Give gratitude each day for everything in your life. There is no time like the present to be thankful."
~Mama Hen

It is Thanksgiving Thursday and I can't believe how fast the past week has gone by. I feel like I just did my Thanksgiving post. This always frightens me a bit, because as I get older I really notice how time goes by in weeks and months, not just in days. I am really trying to savor the moments as best as I can, but they still keep gliding by. Thanksgiving is a great time to really take a moment to see the blessings that each day and each minute brings.
Here are my five:
1.) Little Chick and my family.

2.) The strength God gives me each day to deal with chronic pain in my spine and to go on smiling and not letting on to the world outside.
3.) For the seasons! I love the anticipation of the weather changes and fun holidays that accompany them.
4.) Education! There are so many people that would love the opportunity to go to school.
5.) I am thankful for music and its ability to transcend me to different places in time.

  2. Oh my...I'm so sorry. I didn't know you have chronic back pain. You live with such grace.

Yes, week and months are now the markers that were once days. A daily reminder to take in each minute is vital or we'll just miss so much.

Thanks as always for that reminder. (And I hope you're soaking in a hot tub right now for your back.)

  3. I'm thankful you have the strength and energy to do all you do for all of us in the blogosphere! I keep hearing about spinal decompression (advertised through chiropractic groups) as an alternative to surgery of the spine. Have you heard of this or seen literature on this? It may be worth looking into. I hope you rest comfortably. It really does seem that the older we get the faster time flies, doesn't it? As a child Christmas seemed to take 3 years to come around; as a parent it's practically here again before we finish paying for the last holiday! It's all a matter of perspective, I guess. Good night

  7. there are really many things we should be thankful for and if we think about it we really couldn't ask God for anything more.. =) it feels awful to experience chronic back pain..i have dextro-scoliosis and it sometimes disables me to do many things, even simple stuff. we should be thankful that we're able to survive the pain especially when it attacks the worst. have a great Thursday Mama Hen! I'm thankful I have a friend in you! =)

  10. You never know who is living with chronic pain. Praise God for giving you strength to carry on through the pain - and for extra incentive, your daughter. I also am grateful for music and how it lifts the spirits and soothes!

  11. I agree with you on all but the seasons...I live in Florida so our seasons are a little wacky and never change like up north!

  15. Ahhh, the seasons. Definitely something to appreciate and be thankful for. Unfortunately, the seasons are mild here, but I'm thankful for Starbucks bringing back their pumpkin spice latte, because it means that theoretically (and in most areas of this great nation) fall is here!
