"Through the darkness light will always prevail." ~Mama Hen I wrote this quote in a comment on another blog. When I read it again, I thought to myself how powerful a statement this is. With this in mind, it means that through everything we all will be fine. That is pretty comforting! It sounds so easy doesn't it? I have mentioned throughout my blog that I have been given many challenges over the past twelve years. They have been continuous without breaks at times. I have found myself longing for a moment of "quiet" and "peace". Interestingly so, in writing the comment on another blog I realized that in many ways I have found that pocket of "quiet" and "peace" in simply knowing that even though there is darkness there will always be light. There are so many reasons to be thankful and hopeful and to take delight in. As you all know already, Little Chick is the brightest thing in my life and her contiuous smile is medicine for the soul. Sometimes things may be really tough in our lives, but it is knowing that there is hope - God - that is the strength we need to go on.

That is so true! God is our strength, and He will never fail us! That is a beautiful photo. Reminds us of the power of His creation.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely true. Where there is light, there is no darkness!
ReplyDeleteThanks you for sharing this powerful truth. :)
We truly do have to remember each day to remember he is our light when 'darkness' comes upon us. Just our reminder to sit at his feet, and give him everything.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the powerful reminder.
Hugs, Viola
AMEN!! We have to be reminded of this time and again and not just in the darkest hours when we're reaching for that light. Remembering it keeps us grounded!!
ReplyDeleteHave a light-filled day and kiss Little Chickie!!

Wonderful quote, and you are so right! It really is good to be reminded of this from time to time, it is easy to get caught up in our struggles.
ReplyDeleteSo poignant and true! My pastor always says "There is no place in this world we will go where HE has not been before us." There is always Hope and Light, every day is a new day! Happy Weekend, my friend!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to see the light when you're in the midst of a struggle. It's good to keep reminding us all that it's there.
ReplyDeletesame as someone will not manufacture a lock without a key. Thanks for sharing the quote. So inspirational. Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou're so right! Georgia is my lightness as well; it doesn't take more than a smile from her to remind me of God's grace. Our struggles are hard, but there is so much joy and light around us.
ReplyDeleteThis remind me of something a lady said to me at the receiving when my husband died several years ago. She whispered to me, "a light will shine for you again someday". I never forgot it. And she was right.
ReplyDeleteSo true! Hope is something we need to always hold on to. No matter how dark things are there is always something to make our world a little brighter!
ReplyDeleteWe've had a lot of tough times, too - sometimes it really does feel like there is no break, but it does help to stop and take stock of what we do have, of the brightness in our lives, because usually there's something there we can hold on to! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt is such an inspiring thing to read! It gets lonely here without my hubby sometimes, but I have to keep my head up for our little boy. I have to; he deserves that much.
ReplyDeleteThere's always a light :-)
Amen to that! I had the opportunity last night to sit in a Cesarean/VBAC warrior class and listen to birth stories. I never expected to get out of it what I did. I am so blessed to have such beautiful healthy boys to come home to every day! God never gives us more than we cn handle, i will never understand the bigger picture He has in mind for us....bit there is always a light at the end of EVERY tunnel!
ReplyDeleteI love that picture. And with Little Chick's sunny smile, you'll always have a part of that light inside your home :)
ReplyDeleteI could not agree more. My little girl is definitely medicine for my soul. She is like sunshine every day, even during this long, cold winter. God is the one sustaining me. My hubs has been going through a 2 year long health season...we are so young still...what the heck. IT's been expensive, exhausting, frustrating etc. and no end in sight yet. God is the foundation that keeps me steady and give me the joy to keep pressing on with a song in my step;0. God Bless you today in whatever you are going through!
ReplyDeleteGreat quote Mama. I was on a blog last night of a long lost blogger - this quote is for her. Perhaps you wrote it on her site....hmm I'll check. Anyway, KLV is my light as well as family. Blogs like yours also remind us that there is light and this too shall pass. Hope your doing great
ReplyDeletethis post brought tears to my eyes...first of all, beautiful quote and picture! you are SO right!!! Have a good weekend Mama!
ReplyDeleteWise words, Mama Hen!

what a beautiful photo with the one set of footprints heading to the ocean or lake for the walk.
ReplyDeleteMay you just continue to walk to the setting sun amidst the quietude of the lake and trees.
all alone yet together.
For many lives merge together to join that pair of footprints later on.
