I Have Learned

"I have learned that being "in control" is really being aware that it is all in God's hands." ~Mama HenI have always loved the "I Have Learned" poem which you can find in Mama Hen's Inspirations here. Every now and again I like to list my own "I have learned" sentences, because it helps me to reflect and to evaluate what I am soaking in, as well as what I need to work on. Here are ten things I have learned:

1.) I have learned that I do not know as much as I would like to know and that each day is a wonderful opportunity to fill my self with more knowledge about people, nature, society, and so much more.

2.) I have learned that the most important thing in my life is my family and friends and that everything around it is just fluff.

3.) I have learned that there are so many ways to make a positive difference here on earth each and every day. We just have to make the concerted effort.

4.) I have learned that not everyone will be there for me when I really need it, but the people that are mean the absolute world to me and I am so blessed to have them in my life.

5.) I have learned that my daughter's giggle can make me feel like there is nothing else in the world but love and happiness.

6.) I have learned that time flies at a pace that is alarming at times. However, by recognizing this I am able to focus on the moment more often and what is truly important - my daughter and family.

7.) I have learned that taking an animal home from a shelter is the most amazing feeling. However, if it is not possible to do so there is no reason why people can't visit them often to bring treats and to keep them company for a while.

8.) I have learned that true love is a powerful thing! If we are blessed with people who love us then we should let them know as often as possible.

9.) I have learned that life can be filled with challenges and disappointments, but for all of those there are so many more blessings to be thankful for.

10.) I have learned that my life has not turned out the way I had planned, but the one wish I prayed for all of my life was granted - my beautiful baby Little Chick. That is all I ever wanted and I am overflowing with happiness and thanks!

  12. So true! Leaving things in God's hands is the safest, surest, best way to know that life WON'T spin out of control. On our own? We definitely tend to mess it up!!
