True Friends and Thanksgiving Thursday

"A true friend is some one you know will stand by you through all the emotions of life." ~Mama Hen

My Dad used to say that I would be very blessed if I could count the number of true friends on one hand as I travel this earth. I have learned through many tears that people are not always going to be there for me and that each friend has a reason for being in my life at a particular time. At forty, I feel incredibly blessed to say that I have two very best friends that I can count on through all the tumultuous and bright emotional weather I have lived through. They are angels that God has placed in my life to remind me that no matter what, I am not alone. I have God, my beautiful family and my two earthly angels that have stood the test of time with me. My first friend and I met in Puerto Vallarta in 1994. We met at a restaurant on the beach that we both spent many days and years with friends and the people who worked there laughing and creating fond memories. The first day we met I will never forget. We talked and talked for hours. It was as if we had known one another forever. She is an incredible woman who has amazing artistic talents, compassion for all, a warm and kind heart and a never ending giving nature. She is a blessing to all who have the honor of knowing her. I love her dearly and thank God for bringing her into my life. The next angel in my life I met shortly before my Dad passed away. God knew she would be some one who would understand and help me through the pain his great loss left me with. She is an inspiring woman who has known her share of disappointments in life, however, never shows it. She walks around with a bright smile and can cheer up anyone who meets her. She is beautiful on both the inside and out. I love her so much and feel so blessed to have her a part of my life. These heavenly gifts I treasure always.

I know that I am extremely fortunate to know two people who are always there for me. They have been my strength when I no longer felt like I could pick myself up. They love me for "me" and do not judge - ever. They are both incredibly giving and can always get me to smile. But if there are days I just can't, that is alright with them. They encourage me to be the best that I can be. They are loving, kind, beautiful souls and I thank God and them for their friendship.
Thanksgiving Thursday: 1.) Little Chick and my family 2.) My dear friends who are always there for me. I really appreciate you and thank God for this amazing gift. 3.) For my love of nature and being able to pass on this gift to Little Chick. 4.) For living in a beautiful country! We are so blessed with freedoms others may not have. 5.) Seasons. I love the feel that each season brings.

  6. My Dad told me the same thing about friends and I thought it was awful at first. But, years later I can see that he was right and it's not a bad thing. I have one true friend who's been my buddy since 5th grade. We've had ups and downs but have weathered it all together. It's a beautiful thing!

  7. So blessed to have friends we can count on. Your Dad was so right. We don't need many. Just a few make a whole world of difference. I feel blessed to have had many friends throughout my life. Some come and go and some remain. I appreciate them all. A beautiful thing, indeed!

  15. True and lifelong friends are such an amazing blessing. It took me awhile to figure out that friendships should not have stipulations or expectations attached to them. Now in my adult life I recognize what a true friend is. You are blessed beyond measure, my friend.
