Fabulous Weekend in Vermont

"Let go and let the wind guide you where ever it may blow. The destination might surprise you with something so incredibly wondrous."
~Mama Hen
I am all about surprises and creating fun memories for my family. We decided last minute to take a trip to Vermont and see the Hot Air Balloon Festival. In all my 40 years I have never seen a hot air balloon in real life and I must say that it was breathtaking! We drove up on Saturday to our favorite little Inn and of course took Little Chick for a swim. We then had a delicious dinner and headed in for the night. On Sunday we went to the Billing's Farm to visit all of Little Chick's furry friends;. She loved the baby cows! We then went to try out the outdoor pool and found that we were frozen Popsicles after one lap, so we got out and headed to the indoor pool where we had a fantastic time. After a nap we went for dinner and then to the Balloon Festival. Little Chick was so excited! We stood right in the middle of the balloons as they were starting to fill with air. It was an incredible experience. On Monday we went swimming one more time and then back to the farm before heading home. A spectacular weekend!

  1. Wonderful pictures! I LOVE Vermont - haven't been in years, but I would sure love to go back!

  2. Beautiful pictures! Looks like a good time!

  3. wow, what a fabulous weekend!! i've always wanted to see hot air balloons in person too --- we have a place less than an hour from us where you can actually go for rides, we definitely need to put that on our list and just do it!

    LOVELY family photos : )

  4. Looks like an incredible time. So fun to see the pics of all of you!

  5. You should go up in a balloon. It is so incredibly peaceful and serene. It was early morning and we watched the deer (who were spooked by the sound of our fire) running below us. We went in November and thought we would be freezing. Our pilot explained that when you are off the ground and moving in the wind, there is no wind chill. It was quite comfortable. Once we landed and stood on the ground in the wind...then we were cold!!

  6. What a fantastic weekend! It looks like everyone had a wonderful time. The farm, the inn, the hot air balloons...it couldn't get much better than that! Our daughter and husband took a mini vacation to Vermont a few years ago and just loved it!

  7. what great pics from what looks like a fantastic, family weekend! You look gorgeous, especially in that pic outside by the pool...WONDERFUL PIC! Little Chick always has a smile on her face....so beautiful :)

  8. What an amazing weekend! Your family is beautiful, by the way!

  9. Wow, I didn't even know about the hot air balloon festival in Vermont! What cool pictures! Would you consider riding in one? Did you ride in one? They are really beautiful. Keep on enjoying life Mama Hen. You always think of such wonderful experiences for your Little Chick.
