"In every one of us is a spark.
How blessed are we when this spark is able to ignite a lifetime passion."
~Mama Hen
Little Chick has had a passion for horses since she saw National Velvet when she was just three years old. From that day on she never stopped asking me when she could ride a horse. I made sure that her dream would come true. She began riding when she was four years old, just turning five. We spent quite a bit of time on a horse farm from that day on. However, the past year Little Chick did not ride and we were on the quest to find a new farm. Well, today she could not wait to get back to riding! She got on Misty and had a smile ear to ear. Little Chick loves all animals and was in heaven simply riding her new four legged pal, Misty.
Little Chick has also been doing some really fun stuff for school. She made a wonderful timeline with the facts on Abraham Lincoln and she has also been studying the artist Georgia O'Keeffe. She has been painting beautiful flowers much in the style of this artist. She also began the summer reading challenge at the library and has read a couple of hours each day. I am so proud of my Little Chick!
Ha! I think that 'National Velvet' had that effect on lots of kids. :-) Looks like so much fun. It is an amazing feeling sitting on a horse. I got my horse when I was about 11. It was a spectacular moment in my life. I was an instant cowboy. :-) Little Chick is quite the artist! So glad you stopped in today at Cranberry Morning. Good to hear from you again. :-)
ReplyDeleteLOVE these pictures, you are a wonderful mother to give Little Chick great opportunities and see them through.
