Finding the Heart

"Without even looking for it the heart of everything is all around you." ~Mama Hen
We have been getting quite a bit of snow here in New England. With the snow comes a lot of icicles. I noticed a beautiful scene at my mom's house and had to capture it with my camera. It wasn't until I looked at the pictures on my computer that I noticed a heart out of snow. I always see heart shapes in nature. When my husband and I started dating I saw a rock in the perfect shape of a heart on the beach and gave it to him saying, "You have my heart." Sure it sounds a bit sappy, but why not. I still have that heart rock. Whenever I discover these hearts I get a warm feeling inside and I feel a sense of happiness. It is almost as if they are subtle reminders from God about all the love around me. While I was taking the pictures, Little Chick and my mom came to the window and waved. My daughter beamed a radiant smile. She was so excited to see me through the window. That genuine happiness and excitement to see me, even though I never left, is something so special. It is a gift children posses that over time can fizzle out. I hope she never loses that excitement to see me and beam such a smile simply because she saw her mommy. I know I never lost that happy feeling whenever my Dad returned home from work. The love of a family and happiness to simply be together is the greatest blessing. It is where you will find a heart ever time.

My mom and Little Chick in the window. This baby has all of my heart!

I love the idea of God sending us love messages in the things we see around us every day. And what a lovely reminder on this day!

You are truly blessed and best thing is you don't take those beautiful moments in your life for granted.
