Little Chick's New Love

"The love a child has for nature and wildlife is so innocent and pure."~Mama Hen
We had a fabulous day on Sunday! It was sunny and the temperature was in the forties for a change and Little Chick and I headed up North for our ladies brunch and exploration at Mystic Aquarium again. We just love our day trips there! As we were getting out of our car at the restaurant, Little Chick said, " We are having our ladies luncheon." I had the biggest smile, because I always say that, but I never heard her mention it before. It was really cute! At the aquarium Little Chick had the most amazing experience with her new love, the Stellar Sea Lions. When she placed her hand on the glass and twirled it around in a circle the sea lion would follow it and spin around and around. It was spectacular to see. Then when she kissed the glass the sea lion kissed her back. This went on for about ten minutes. It was so beautiful! Little Chick got a Stellar Sea Lion to take home, which she immediately made a bed for it so it could go to sleep. That sea lion is now in bed with her all cuddled up. It was a cherished day!
Coming in for a kiss.
Little Chick turning her hand so the sea lion would twirl.
More kisses.
Love.
"Mommy look at my new friend!"

Putting her baby sea lion to sleep.
Shhhhh!

  2. I love when Savannah puts her animals and babies to sleep. She'll shut her door and say, "quiet mama, they're taking a nap".
Sounds like you girls had a wonderful day.

  16. I love how Little Chick is so in tune with the marine animals. I think I see a future marine biologist in her future, especially since you foster her love of them so much! I hope you're enjoying the minor heat wave we've been having this weekend!
