What Do You Wish For?

"Take a chance! Make a wish! It just may come true."
~Mama Hen
What do you wish for? Every time Little Chick and I see a fountain I give her three coins to throw in. We both start singing Frank Sinatra's "Three Coins in the Fountain." Yes, Little Chick loves Frank, Dean and Bing! We love playing their music loudly in the kitchen and dancing around the table while I make dinner! Little Chick learned to kiss the coin first and then throw it in from my Mom! Grandmoms teach the best things, don't they? I think she only saw my mom do it once and ever since she has always kissed each coin and with great gusto throws it in. Although I am abundantly blessed, there are a few wishes on my list. One, as you all already know, is that I pray and wish to have another child so Little Chick could have someone to go through life with. I mean, who is she going to complain about me to? All jokes aside, that is my greatest wish (after of course, wanting health, happiness and lots of love for my entire family). What do you have on your wish list?

  1. what a great post and your prayers and wishes WILL come true-hang in there :) You're too fabulous of a person and Mother for it not to. Your taste in music is fabulous...Dean Martin-ahhh played him at our wedding A LOT! My grandparents used to dance the night away to that music :) Hmmm, my wish? My wish is that throughout the ups and downs of life, our family of four stays close and grows together for the rest of my life!

  2. I have a few things - I wish to be healthy. No more BP meds. No more weight concerns. Back to the old me, that I lost 10 years ago.

I also wish for the egyptian and I find that bond that we originally had. I was never as happy as when we were together in Egypt. I want that to happen here.

I also hope for peace of mind. With that comes from the knowledge of my parents doing well, my sister finding happiness and my niece growing up to be the beautiful woman I know she can be!

  4. I hope your wish comes true. Although, I feel that I am blessed already, I do wish for peace of mind. That the every day activities will slow down and I can really start to enjoy life.

  7. Someone once said, "If wishes were fishes the sea would be full." I think it was a disgruntled mom setting her son straight about something he was wishing for at the time. When you think of the ocean depths and all of the beauty that abounds there, it is kind of the same with the people we see in passing from day to day. We all have some kind of wishes, don't we? My first wish would be for financial stability to the extent that I could stay home with my kids. Since that hasn't worked out so well, my second wish is for a job that I love caring for others in a workplace to which I actually look forward to going. My third wish would be for the means to spend more time with friends which I never seem to get to do outside of the Christmas holidays.

  11. Awww... sometimes I wish for another baby brother or sister for Ben too, but then if I do that, he'll have to stop breastfeeding from me eventually which is what I don't want (cos he loves it!) - I'm still torn in between these 2 options...

But that aside, I wish for abundance of good health and blessings and protection from God. That we have sufficient to go through our lives and we're happy with everything! :)

  12. Oh btw, if we give coins to Ben now, he'll be searching for the coinbox to put the coins in. So no wishing over the fountain yet for him :)

  13. We used to make wishes in the big fountains at the mall. I always wished for candy or good grades- haha!

I wish for healthy children throughout my husband's deployment and my sanity not to run away from home ;)

  14. Health and happiness, yes! I like making wishes but I do tend to choose things like that instead of superficial wants. :))

  23. That's a very sweet post. I love that she kisses the pennys. Do you douse them down with GermX first??? LOL.
My biggest wish is that I would find a way to do it all as a mom and wife and still have energy at the end of the day. I think that's my biggest wish right now. Sometimes it just feels as if I'm failing. I guess lowering my own standards and expectations of myself would probably help.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and wishing me a happy birthday. We're all better now and my husband got home safely from the football game. So, I couldn't be more happier, even though I'm not in my 20s anymore.

  24. Hi. Very sweet post. I can totally relate-my mom taught Ariyana about throwing the pennies in the water and making a wish too. And seriously...my wishes are exactly like yours :)

  25. One of the best things about having kids, I think, is doing fun little traditions with them that they will remember forever.

  33. Mama Hen, thanks for stopping by today. I am now following you and I love your blog. Your daughter is precious. I noticed your favorite movie was "Sabrina" the original. I am a diehard Audrey Hepburn fan and own almost every movie. I drive my husband nuts with it, haha. I pray that you also get another addition to your family, I am sure that you will.

My hopes are that I can finally get my (expensive$$$) car problem fixed and that we can make our move closer to family sooner than later. I can't wait to go be part of your hen nest community.
