"Happiness comes of the capacity to feel deeply, to enjoy simply,to think freely, to risk life, to be needed."
What a fun day Little Chick and I had yesterday! Summer vacation began on Wednesday when I picked her up at school and we scooped up Grandma Hen and headed to the beach for dinner and a whole lot of splashing around. Then when Little Chick woke up yesterday, I surprised her by saying we were going to Massachusetts to Six Flags! She hopped up and down with a huge smile saying, "We're going on a trip! We're going on a trip!" Her excitement was contagious and we packed up the car and headed North!
We had such a blast at Six Flags! Little Chick loved Thomas the train, Harold the helicopter, and the carousel, but most of all she loved the water park! It was the first time we went to the water park section and if was an incredible amount of fun! What a way to kick off the summer vacation! When we finally drove home we arrived to a house with no power. Yikes! If you don't see me commenting for a while, it is because my house still has no power and it is 10:30 AM on Friday. Little Chick and I are at the library staying cool and having fun! Have a great day!
Yay! What a fun mommy you are!! It's a great way to start her summer vacation!

ReplyDeleteWhat happy and fun pictures! Welcome summer!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of fun! I grew up near Atlanta so I went to the Six Flags there every year though I haven't been there since I was a kid. We do have a pretty fun amusement park about an hour's drive from us now though. I am sure we will go at least once this summer. Glad your power is back. Tornados are scary!
ReplyDeleteWHEEE! What a fun day! How wonderful! :-) Little Chick was in school until the end of June? Wow! And I thought we got out late (June 3rd). I think next year the kids are out in May... (Your pictures are really, really good by the way. I love the one of your little gal on the carosel. OK, I like them ALL!!) :-) Happy Summer to you!
ReplyDelete(Oh, and I got to quickly sneak a peek at my new book. It is PACKED with information! Great recommendation)! Maybe I'll get 2 seconds to read it next week on vacation - LOL!
I would love love love to do a blog book, but I'm kind of nervous to. I contacted blurb, and told them all my images were 72dpi (standard for web). They told me I should "re-do" all the pics at 300 dpi because 72 is not meant for print. Yikes! Can you imagine? There's no way I could re-do all my pictures on my blog. There are probably 5-600, and I'd have to do them one by one. I had a scrapbook made awhile back, (maybe you remember the post)...and the quality was not quite what I was hoping for. There were little dots and lines all over the pictures. I contacted the company, and they were amazing to work with. They gave me 2 free books, and told me to re-size all my images to their specifications. I did that, got my new book, and the same quality. I was so sad. :-( All that work and it was the same. That's why I've been putting it off, but if I knew the quality would be great - I'd do it right away! :-)
ReplyDeleteomg, this is so much fun! i love six flags!!! australia's theme parks pale in comparison to america's though. :( BUT, there's always those family trips to visit gigi and gramps in america, and no doubt disneyland will be our first stop with the little one in a couple of years. and by the way, not a worry about the camping comment. i totally understand. you are super cute mama hen!!! now, get some sleep girl! :)
ReplyDeleteGive the little guys a water slide, the teenagers beautiful girls to watch and me a lazy river, well, to just be lazy in, and you've got heaven on earth! Three Cheers for Summer! Have a great time!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun time! Good idea to go to the library. Happy summer!
