Happy Birthday Little Chick

"Birthdays come every year to remind us we should be celebrating each and every day!" ~Mama Hen
Little Chick celebrated her 9th birthday with family and friends this weekend. The fun began on Saturday when Little Chick got to pick out a cute fish to add to our family. She named him Moonbeam. She then went out with Grandma Hen to get her nails done at a salon. Sunday was a fun filled day with lots of Birthday presents waiting in the morning, a delicious breakfast, picking up her sorbet cake, Build A Bear with her Godmother and I, a movie and then the best Hibachi dinner with family. Little Chick had so much fun. When we returned after dinner Little Chick was excited to find her favorite movie in the mailbox. A gift from our neighbors. She got to watch the movie to top off the Birthday fun. More fantastic Birthday adventures will come this week. Happy Birthday Little Chick!

Little Chick in Old Sturbridge Village

"Each day is a beautiful gift.
Unwrap it with gratitude and live it with enthusiasm." ~Mama Hen
Little Chick and I had a fantastic day at Old Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts! It is one of our favorite places to go. The weather was absolutely beautiful. We had fun going on the stage coach, horse drawn wagon and boat ride. We enjoyed seeing the village and all the folks dressed up in character. Leo the rooster greeted us as we reached the barn. We loved seeing the baby calves all curled up with one another. The day was topped with a refreshing swim at the pool. Ahhh the joys of summer!

Summer Days

"Summer days filled with swimming, reading in the shade, eating scrumptious watermelon and hanging out with family and friends. It doesn't get better than this!" ~Mama Hen
Little Chick took on the Summer Reading Challenge at our local library with determination and gusto! I was so proud of her. She said she wanted to read the summer's challenge within a week. So she got lots of books at the library and began reading the day the summer reading challenge began. Within 7 days she read more than the 1500 minutes allotted for the summer. She earned prizes and two new books. I am really proud of my Little Reader! We have been having so much fun hiking, swimming, cooking out and simply enjoying all that summer has to offer. Little Chick attended an all day Choir Camp and had an amazing time! It has been a wonderful summer and we are looking forward to more fun filled days!
