Mashantucket Pequot Museum

Little Chick has been studying all about the Native Americans, Pilgrims, Plymouth, the Wampanoag and so much more the past month. She has also been working diligently on creating a Thanksgiving feast scene with many pilgrims and Wampanoag, along with the Mayflower, houses and wigwams made out of bark. So I thought it would be wonderful to take her to the Mashantucket Pequot Museum to see and learn all about the Native Americans from the area. It was such an incredible museum! We really enjoyed our time there and can't wait to return and learn some more. 

My Little Hiking Chick

Little Chick is my little nature girl! She definitely takes after me and has my love for being surrounded by God's beautiful gifts. We go hiking a lot! Today we went back to Sleeping Giant to hike up to the Tower. Little Chick looked for fairies along the way and brought some fairies with her to help out. She found a ladybug while eating her snack and made sure to take it to a safe place.  It was another gorgeous autumn day in New England! Little Chick earned her hiking badge for Brownies. I am so proud of my Little hiking Chick!

Giving Thanks & Thanksgiving Thursday

Little Chick has been so busy this autumn! Between all the wonderful hard schoolwork she does and fun playdates, we make sure we head out on lots of adventures. Last weekend Little Chick donated her candy from Halloween and attended a fun after Halloween party with her friends. We went for a beautiful walk on the beach over the weekend as well. I surprised Little Chick with another trip to Sturbridge Village. The weather was beautiful and we had so much fun! She did a scavenger hunt and learned about what the people in the 1800's did at the end of harvest and how they prepared for Thanksgiving and winter. LC made an ornament out of tin and candles. She was excited to get a quill and ink, which she couldn't wait to use when we got home. This Thanksgiving Thursday we are so thankful for all the abundant blessings God has bestowed upon us.
