Letting Go of the Clutter

Recently I had a minute where something that had weighed down my heart had lifted and dissipated out into the universe. It was a moment of "letting go". I am not sure what exactly triggered my ability to do this, but the result was incredibly cleansing. There are a few things sitting in my heart that have been weighing me down for years. Finding the strength to forgive others is essential. Although this is just one experience with letting go, the feeling it has left me with is an open heart. It has also helped me to realize just how much something from the past can take away from the present. It is all about learning to forgive others and accept that the past is something that is simply that: "the past". It is something we cannot change and something we all must learn from. I hope that in time I will have more cleansing moments and will be able to say that I am completely free from the people and scenarios that have weighed down my heart so heavily. For now I will be thankful for this glimpse of what "letting go" is truly about.

Little Chick loves to take Lolli and I for a ride in her Jeep! I am always surprised when the little car actually goes with me on board. Grandma Hen could not resist capturing a picture of how we spend our days. Little Chick beams happiness and it makes everyone around smile. I love you more than anything baby girl! Thanksgiving Thursday and Power

Our power just went back on! I can't say just how excited we are. We have been visiting my mom every day just for a shower and cup of coffee. This picture above was taken a couple of days ago. My dear friend Geri came over for a hot shower and to spend the night because she had no power either. Just as we took this picture my mom's power went out. We made the best of it and had a little party! Although it has been rather uncomfortable, the circumstances brought our family and friends together. That is really what life is all about! For family and friends during times of need. 5.) For my best friend Marcy who stayed on the phone with me for a couple of hours last night to help the time in the dark pass by!

All is Well After the Hurricane

"Give thanks for the gift of simply being with family."~Mama HenWell, the hurricane is over and we are so thankfull that we are all fine. We have no power, but that is the least of worries in these moments. It was one of the most frightening things I have experienced. Having my daughter makes the worry so much greater in times like these. With two enormous trees looming in our yard, I spent the night praying they would stay in tact. Our prayers were heard and we are fine. I hope everyone that experienced this storm is doing well. Have a good week!

Thanksgiving Thursday - Blessings

Yesterday Little Chick and I decided it would be a great idea to head to Mystic for a day trip. We went to the aquarium and to Mystic Village for a delicious lunch. We then headed to the beach for some splashing fun! The waves were lively and we had a blast! We had so much fun that we made a plan to go back up north to the beach today. We spent a few hours playing in the water until a big rain came. We headed into town for lunch and then came home. It was an amazing two days filled with abundant blessings! Thank You Dear God!

Thanksgiving Thursday: 1.) Little Chick and my family. 2.) For beautiful days with my adorable daughter at the beach. 3.) For finally feeling relief after an annoying bout with poison ivy. 4.) Family time! There is nothing like simply being together with the ones we love. 5.) For wonderful presents that come in the mail. Thank you to our two beautiful cousins in Spain for Little Chick's great birthday package!

All the Little Happy Moments

Today my best friend Geri came by for dinner and some family fun. When I was putting Little Chick to bed I thought about how many happy little moments we share each day. I always try to fill our days with fun things and most of all the happiness of simply being together. We started our day at a park with Little Chick's friends and they played and we had a picnic. Then my friend came in the afternoon and we played lots of games and then of course we had a birthday party for some of her furry friends. I let Little Chick use my good camera and she did a fabulous job! She was so cute directing Geri and I on what faces to make. It was a day that had no particular significant moment, however all the little moments added up to the most magnificent day!

Little Chick & Lolli at the Beach

Little Chick, Lolli and I took a trip up to the beach in Guilford. It was Lolli's first time at the beach and we were excited to share our favorite place with her. We had so much fun swimming for hours! Lolli was not sure if she wanted to go in at first. But when she did, Little Chick was there to make sure she was loving it. It was a beautiful day at the beach!
