I am one very proud Mama Hen! My beautiful Little Chick is reading about 28 site words and I am so proud of my little baby. We love to read together! Little Chick enjoys listening to books on tape in the car while we drive and then reading the books on her own. Our day is always filled with reading. Now I can see her excitement in being able to read many words by herself. This is such a great accomplishment for my little four year old. Some of the words she is reading are: home, better, the, and, all, school, little, small, great, cat, stop, big, me, see, up, dog, ball, play, and so much more. I am so proud of you Little Chick!

Aww, Congrats!! That's so great!
ReplyDeleteSuch a proud Mama you are, and you should be! That's awesome. Great job Little Chick! :) I'm happy for the both of you!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Little chick! I love when they start reading. It's so exciting!
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic! What a great teacher she has!! My kids still love to read so it's great to start them young!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! You can see in the picture just how proud she is of herself, and as well she should! Books on tape in the car is such a good idea; I'm going to have to add that to my list for when Georgia's a little older.
ReplyDeleteOne of the most exciting things is seeing our child, holding a book and enjoying reading! SO important to get that skill and love for books established at a very early age - helps with everything else in life. Good for you, Mama Hen, and good for you, Little Chick!
ReplyDeleteBe sure to enter my [first ever] Giveaway at Cranberry Morning - my handmade soaps. :-)
That is so exciting and you should be proud!
ReplyDeleteYAY LITTLE CHICK!
ReplyDeleteWow......you have to be proud. I'm all for a head start if the interest is there. And LC is so bright - I'm not surprised. ( A little envious maybe - my 3 year old is barely talking. I'm learning patience.)
ReplyDeleteTo answer you question about pictures and printing. I remember your advice about the blurb book and that is still my goal but you're right - if we don't keep it up, it gets away from us. I do print up batches from time to time and try to frame them or book them up - not always successful though. Wish I had a week or two - sans interruptions (haha) and really get it done.
Stay warm, my friend.
You are soo amazing!!! Thank you for the donation!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Little Chick! Yay, Mama Hen...They say a child that loves to read as a little one will always love to read and learn as an adult! It must be so much fun to hear Little Chick learn to read new words everyday.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Thursday!
Stop it! That'a awesome news! What a great big milestone! The floodgates are opening and there is so much reading enjoyment ahead of her.
ReplyDeleteSO proud of that precious, sweet girl! Now get over here and teach Jacob how to do it too??! Ha! Good job Momma, very big milestone and I know you're proud!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Little Chick (and her first teacher!). Let her read this herself: good job, Little Chick! Aren't milestones wonderful? Our PTA president was busy hosting the teacher luncheon just before the Christmas holiday, and she forgot her son's orthodontist appt. When she called him on his cell phone to apologize for the oversight, he had already left school and driven himself to his appt. Our PTA Prez was so proud that he managed on his own but at the same time felt sad that her "baby" was growing up and becoming self-sufficient. It truly is a mixed blessing!
ReplyDeleteYAY!!!!!!! Go lil chickie!!!
ReplyDeleteway to go Little Chick... make mama more proud of ya...:)
ReplyDeleteWow! That is great!! Yay for reading! Keep up the good work Little Chick!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! She is still young to be reading so well. Kuddos to you both for your accomplishments as a team. You chicks rock.
ReplyDeleteCarry on encouraging her love of reading, it is a great pleasure that so many people these days just do not appreciate.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you and most especially to your little Chick. I can feel your happiness and how proud you are.
ReplyDeleteWay to go Little Chick! Yay for you, Mama Hen! You deserve a pat on the back, sweet lady! My son was an early reader and I know that part of it was that I took the time to read to him and with him. Good for you for taking that time to encourage this process with her. You're an awesome Mama!
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing! Each milestone my kids reach blows me away. Reading will be so exciting! Xoxo
