"Life is so short. Celebrate each day like it is a special occasion." ~Mama Hen
I surprised Little Chick this morning with taking her to the Mystic Aquarium. She was so excited to take a "day trip". It takes about an hour and a half for us to get there, so we consider it a "trip" (Something Little Chick loves because this means we take the DVD player along for the ride home. A super treat!). When we got there my daughter could not wait to see the penguins! She fell in love with the Beluga whales and had so much fun seeing the sea lions and sharks. We had a lovely lunch and then visited the gift shop before we left. My daughter loves documentaries so she picked out a DVD about penguins (of course) and another on whales. We got a couple of penguin books and a lollipop to top the trip off on the car ride home. It was a great day!
love Love LOVE it! What a perfect day, Mama! Couldn't think of a better way to spend it. (Hope everyone is feeling better in the New Year ... how's Papa Roosert and Grandma Hen? Hope everyone is doing better. Thinking of them all!)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a perfect day. Could her smile be any bigger? I love it. Maybe she will be an oceanographer or a whale trAiner at Sea World when she grows up. :)

ReplyDeleteWow! What a surprise! Bet Little Chick enjoys herself!

ReplyDeleteOh man, we've lived in CT for almost a whole year now and I haven't taken the kids to the Mystic Aquarium. The only thing we saw in Mystic was Mystic Pizza. Ok, you've inspired me...I'm going!

ReplyDeleteI've never been to an aquarium before! It looks like so much fun. Little Chick has such a happy smile always. I need to map that out and see how far it is from me. It might be worth a drive since I've never been to one. Hope your husband is doing well and that you have a great weekend! Candace
