What a Blizzard

"When things get dumped upon you, find a way to make the best of the situation." ~Mama Hen
This was quite a blizzard! It started off as really beautiful and fun! But as I continued to shovel from 8:00 am to 11:30 pm, it was not so much fun any more. Then, after shoveling my long driveway and front pathway five times throughout the day, we awoke the next morning to several feet of snow right where I had worked so diligently. But I worked through it and kept shoveling away until I got the job done. Little Chick was so adorable and got all geared up at night and said, "Mommy, I am here to help you! Where is my shovel?" I was so proud of my little baby being so kind and wanting to help her mommy out. Once I had cleared the driveway in the evening, the snow came down so fast that the accumulation was just enough for Little Chick to sled. So as I continued to shovel she went zooming down the driveway. It took many hours the following day to clear my driveway. Then I did my roof! After all that work, a good cup of hot cocoa was in order!
Guess who came to help? Of course my beautiful little helper!
Yikes! That is a lot of snow! I thought I shoveled that already!
 Where is the fence?
 Are we there yet?
Not again! I thought I shoveled that driveway five times already!
 Now on to the roof!
I am ready for spring!

  1. I'm ready for spring too! That storm was insane. I'm just glad we didn't lose power. My husband worked for hours clearing out the house. Insane!

  2. GEEZ!!!! I see your pics but can't even imagine what that's like!! SO much white fluff that I'm sure gets frustrating after THAT much!
Hope you're well! Little Chick is growing up so fast :-)

  3. Wow you got a ton of snow!!! It is frustrating when you have to keep shoveling and shoveling again, then wake up to more shoveling. It's a good work out at least. :) How sweet of Little Chick to help you. Your house looked so pretty in the snow! I'm ready for spring too!

  4. I love all the pictures! It looks like you got a ton of snow! We didn't get any blizzards this year. I'm kind of bummed about that!

  5. I'm glad to hear you weathered the storm okay. We have very similar pictures, but I give you so much credit for shoveling the driveway yourself. We attempted to in the beginning, but then had to have someone plow with a front loader in the end. It was a tough storm; I'm looking forward to nicer weather on the horizon... XO.
