"Oh the joy of bringing home a new family member!" ~Mama Hen
Little Chick has a new bunny! She named this cute little baby, Flopsy. Flopsy is only 8 weeks old and is so adorable! Little Chick loves animals and takes such good care of them. We were excited to add a new furry family member to our home. Monday, May 27, 2013

My Greatest Gift
"My beautiful daughter, you are my greatest gift from God above." Mama Hen
Little Chick is my greatest blessing. She fills me with endless smiles and the utmost joy. Her beautiful heart and overflowing compassion for others, animals and nature is something I admire every day. As the spring petals from our tree out in the front yard come pouring down Little Chick basks in the great fun it brings. It is the simplest things that create a genuine smile from ear to ear. We have been enjoying Spring and all its beauty each and every day.
Happy Spring!

NH, Tire Swing, Zoo, Bugs, Carnival, New Bike & Spring Planting
"So many opportunities to create fantastic memories!" ~Mama Hen
We had an amazing time on our trip to New Hampshire and Maine! The last couple of days we made sure to hike as much as possible in New Hampshire's beautiful White Mountains. We even took a lovely hike right before our long journey back home. The next day we headed to the zoo for some exploration fun! Little Chick loved holding the stick bug and letting the huge cockroaches crawl on her back. She touched the milk snake (something I will not do). I then surprised her with an evening at the local carnival. She was so excited! We have been enjoying the beautiful spring weather! I put up a tire swing in the front yard for Little Chick and she also got a big girl bike. Little Chick has been a great helper in the yard. Yesterday she planted some gorgeous azaleas with me. I love my beautiful Little Chick!

Little Chick in Maine
"Make the most of each and every moment and cherish the everlasting joy that comes with living life to the fullest." ~Mama Hen
Little Chick and Grandma Hen had never been to Maine so I decided to take them there for the day. It was about a two and a half hour drive from where we were staying in New Hampshire to Portland, so I packed everyone in the car bright and early and headed there for a fun and exciting adventure. We stopped at some lakes along the way. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and the scenery was magnificent! When we got to Portland we had a delicious lunch on the water. We then headed to the shoreline for a fantastic long walk. Little Chick had fun with Lolli and Gigi climbing the rocks on the jette and searching for snails. On our way back to New Hampshire we stopped again at another beautiful lake and then at some favorite hiking spots in New Hampshire along the river. It was a very full day packed with fun, adventure, lots of giggles and cherished memories.

Little Chick in New Hampshire
"Take each moment and turn them into cherished memories that will last forever." ~Mama Hen
Grandma Hen and I surprised Little Chick with another fun trip to New Hampshire. She was so excited when she found out she was going to one of our favorite places. We had a lot of fun on the drive up and stopped at Yankee Candle as we always do to stretch our legs and get a yummy snack. We had a beautiful day yesterday and took our little doggies for the first time on our hike. It was an absolutely gorgeous day! We then ate at our favorite restaurant, went for a fantastic swim and topped off the night with roasted marshmallows when we got back to our condo. We love New Hampshire and all the cherished memories we create.

Sense of Humor
"When given the opportunity to harness your sense of humor, go for it!" ~Mama Hen
Little Chick had fun on Easter and that same week visiting our local zoo. We go there often and enjoy learning about all the animals. Little Chick's favorite is the pygmy marmoset monkey. On Easter we were strolling through as we have done so many times before and stopped to visit the tigers. I was happy they were awake and walking around. Before you knew it one of the tigers came right up to the enclosure in front of me and sprayed. Yes, I got sprayed! I was in shock. I said, "What just happened here? Is it raining?" Then a lady a little further down enlightened me on the fact that I had been sprayed by a tiger. Well, being dressed in Easter Sunday clothing could have made someone a little upset, but I just burst out laughing. I could not stop! I have not had a laugh like that in quite some time. I felt honored that the tiger chose me to spray. Who can say that they have been sprayed by a tiger in their lifetime? Not many. So, now Little Chick and I have fun when we think about our Easter and our tiger friend. This is a laugh that will live on. When the opportunity arises, make sure you have a great laugh!
