“I go to Nature to be soothed and healed,
and to have my senses put in tune once more.”
I have always been a “nature” lover. I crave the beach and the salt air blowing all around me. I also love the woods and the calm I feel when I am sitting in the middle of God’s masterpiece. Since I was little I have started the habit of “looking up” when I am in the midst of nature. It is symbolic of what I want to create in my inner being - a sense of peace and positivity.
I want to instill this passion for nature in Little Chick, however, I think children already come with it. It is something that needs to be nurtured and held onto. We all can get lost in the craziness of “schedules” and it is up to us to make sure we don’t allow it to take away from the simplicity of what’s all around us.
When it is nice out I make sure we spend as much time outdoors as possible. Little Chick loves to help me water the flowers, feed the birds, and do some planting. She enjoys running around our yard with our dog Pudding chasing after her. Whether it is Winter in the snow or Spring with the flowers we love to settle down in the grass and simply “look up”. We watch the trees dancing in the wind and listen to the symphony of nature.
Little Chick helps me to revisit all the most important things in my life.

I agree that children naturally have a special attraction towards nature. I love spending time outdoors with my twins. It's so calm and relaxing, for everybody!
ReplyDeleteHer beautiful smile says it all
ReplyDeleteYes, children truly do help us see things anew. That is one of my favorite parts of being a parent.
ReplyDeletePS. I look up like you do!
Following you back~ Thank you for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI love spending time outside with by boys! With my baby (11 months old) we used to just sit outside and feel the wind annd smell the grass. Now he wont sit still at all! He is crawling around everywhere! I usually play soccer or t-ball with my oldest son (5 years). This year we are even growing a vegetable garden. Thanks for the post!
ReplyDeleteI know some of the most special moments with my children is when we venture out for walks or bike rides on the trails around our home. We're surrounded by beautiful wetlands and it's absolutely gorgeous on a sunny day.
ReplyDeleteHey, I just posted some nature pics from my walks with my boys, I thought I'd let you know since your post is all about that, check them out when you get a chance!
ReplyDeleteHave great day:)
I miss those days with my daughter. We used to birdwatch and garden together. Enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteI agree! I would much rather be outside rather then inside.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, I crave the outdoors! Thanks for being a new follower, I'm a new one of yours too:) Your blog is super cute!
ReplyDeleteWe love being outdoors, too. They help in the garden and love to dig in the dirt. My oldest asks to go out in the yard. Good times.

ReplyDeleteHi Mama Hen! Thank you for your comment and for following my blog! I look forward to coming back (I am following).
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, Mama Hen! Children come with an innate sense of wonder, curiosity and love of nature. Through time and stress and the folly of life, we lose that natural sense. Thanks for reminding us to rekindle it within ourselves.
ReplyDeleteHi Mama Hen! We love spending time with our son outside too. You have a beautiful blog!!!
ReplyDeletePS: Thanks for your comment and for stopping by my blog.

I'm definitely a nature person; I would always much prefer to be in the countryside rather than in a city.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and inspiring post :)

Oh YES they come with a passion for outdoors. Boo Boo would rather be outside, at the park, at the splash pad, at the zoo, camping than anything else. ;)
ReplyDeleteI am following you back and stealing your button for my peeps page.
