We Should Dance

"Life may not be the party we hoped for,
but while we are here we should dance."

My friend sent me this quote a couple of months ago and I just loved it!! I have been blessed with so much love in my life and all the essentials for daily living. I am very thankful for that. However, lately (well, longer than lately) I have been getting rather stressed about wanting Little Chick to have a sibling. Yesterday my friend came over and I held her adorable six month old baby. That kicked in my "mommy clock". As I mentioned in my About Mama Hen page, I went through years of longing to be a mom and then God blessed me with the most incredible gift - Little Chick!! I am just having "guilt" feelings that she won't have any one to share her special thoughts with and complain about me to as she gets older.

It always comes down to me wanting the absolute best for Little Chick! When I was younger I had a vision of "what it would be" as an adult. In that picture, Little Chick had a sibling. As much as it is important to set goals and reach for the stars, there are just some things that are not God's plan. It is something I have to work on about myself and accepting that things don't always turn out the way we expect them to. I know that Little Chick does not know any different that she is an only child at this point. I just want to be able to give her the moon! The mind is a powerful thing and we need to find acceptance in the things that are not within our control. So, while the vision is not what I had planned on, I am going to make sure that Little Chick and I dance every day!!

  12. Thank you! I will say a prayer that God will bless you and your family with another child. I will also be sure to pray for peace in your waiting. I learned something from a Beth Moore Study(I think it was The Psalms of Ascent), but I've done a lot of her studies, so maybe it was another. But the point was that when we are waiting for something, our God is waiting too! for the perfect time according to his plan. I see in your blog you're tursting ni Him. don't give up the hope that He fulfills His promises! :) God Bless, and thanks for the award!

  13. Mama Hen, thanks for your comments on my site. I must admit I like your taste in music! Regarding this post, we currently only have one child and are sincerely hoping for another but if that doesn't happen we will come to terms and subsequently come to peace. Thanks for keeping in touch!

  14. I felt the same as you many times. I left it all in God's hands, as hard as that is. I know that whatever the plan is for you, Little Chick is loved and will be a happy girl. You can rest assured that she will grow to be a happy little girl no matter if she has siblings or not... how could she not with such a loving mom?

Thanks for stopping by and visiting me!
