Today, while helping my mom, I found this picture of her from back in the day. She can recall the day, the year, the feeling and the dress. It made me think about how important it is to create the happiest moments possible. Throughout our lives we will be reminiscing and reflecting on our journey. It got me questioning about life. Was it a good one? Am I fulfilled? How do I continue to move forward and assure that the memories I create will be as happy as the others? Seeing my mom in such excruciating pain has left me overwhelmed with emotion. I am the only one who is around to take care of her and with Little Chick's Mono still taking the stuffing out of her I feel a bit like I am walking through a thick cloud. I know God is with me and guiding me, but I am still hoping for a moment of "quiet" and "peace" for all of us. After seeing the doctor yesterday we learned that my mom will need surgery. This opens up more worry and concern. Thank you bloggy friends for all of the support. I really appreciate it!

Your mom looks to happy in that picture. I hope she's doing ok. You maynot know me, but I'll be praying for her.
ReplyDeleteI'm praying with you Mama Hen. This time of trial will end eventually and good health will be restored for LC and your Mom. While you are being the best Mom & Daughter you can be, while taking care of those that need and depend on you, just remember to take care of yourself too. God will see you through this.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your kind comments. Have a Happy Thanksgiving, my friend.

ReplyDeleteHey Mama Hen,
ReplyDeleteJust as I've been posting on my own blog about faith, we pray the desires of our heart and that god will offer healing. With that I will say a prayer for you and your family, your mom.
You mom looks so content with life in the picture, as she lives in the moment. How wonderful for her to go back to that time and reflect.
Take care,

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful picture and post. What was it about the seventies that made our mom's so radiant? I have a similar picture of my mom and it's the only time I've ever seen her relaxed and happy in a photo - ever! I often ask myself if I'm living my life to the fullest. I guess thats why I do what I do- I want to look back and say "Yeah, baby! That's what I'm talkin' about!"
ReplyDeleteI'll pray for your sweet mom.
Thats a beautiful picture! The dress is gorgeous! I pray that everything will be ok, just take it one day at a time and don't be overly anxious, gods hand is on you. xx

ReplyDeleteI thought your last Thanksgiving point about the many blessings God has given that we're not even aware of. How true that is, and a good point to ponder.
God bless you and your family as you keep trusting in Him.
