I love Thanksgiving Thursday! I have so much in my life to be thankful for! Since the summer vacation began Little Chick and I have been doing so many fun things and we are both exhausted! With the busy days and being pooped out, it can be really easy to forget conscientiously to give thanks. This is why I love writing down my blessings each week and truly taking the time to think about it and honestly and full heartedly give thanks.
Here are my five for this week.
I am thankful for:
1.) Little Chick and my loving family.
2.) Electricity! After the power failure last week I knew this would be right up there on my list. With electricity comes so many other things to be thankful for like a refrigerator, lights, air conditioning, computer, TV, doing the laundry (well maybe not so much that) and so much more!
3.) Getting to know my cousins after many years of not knowing them. They are all over the world and because of technology we have been communicating a lot.
4.) Having learned to speak up when someone is being hurtful and unkind.
5.) Ice cream cones in a hot summer day!

A Day of Firsts
Yesterday Little Chick took her first boat ride! It was so much fun! She was filled with excitement, wonder, and uncertainty of the unknown! Today was also the first time Little Chick wrote her first name! Yippey my little daughter! I am one proud Mama Hen! She also wrote CAT. These are the first two words she has ever written!
Happy Thanksgiving Thursday!
So lovely. I really enjoy reading about the joy in people's lives. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYay Little Chick! Before you know it she will be writing great blogs just like her Mommy. Thanks for your thoughtful comment on my blog tonight. It made me smile and I would be honored - let me know if you need anything. You are a great blogger and a cherished bloggy friend. Happy Thanks Thursday.
ReplyDeleteIt's morning here. And it's so nice to wake up and read your list. Put a smile on my face so early in the morning. Means it's going to be a good day.

ReplyDeleteGreat post! How much fun to watch her learn to write! It cracks open such an important window.
ReplyDeleteAww...go Little Chick! That's so exciting to write her first two words! I'm doing Thanksgiving Thursday today too! Thanks for the inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteHey there!
ReplyDeleteGiving thanks that my kids are healthy and, relatively, happy and that TeenBoy was able to pull off the coup of the century and passed the 8th grade (according to the call to the school yesterday!) by the skin of his not brushed often enough for me teeth!
And I am thankful for HeMan Hubby even though we do not get enough time together and I am cranky when I am really tired because I get up with the kids in the mornings and he doesn't even if I'm dead tired cuz I just got off work...
That should be good for this Thursday... maybe I'll have more next week. We'll see.
LOVE this!! So positive : )
ReplyDeleteAnd that awesome Little Chick wrote her name, that's a BIG DEAL!!
Keep having fun ......
That would be a great exercise for us to do each morning, writing down at least 10 things we're thankful for. It's so easy for the inconvenient things of life to take precedence - and not notice all things for which we should be thankful!
ReplyDeleteHi Mama Hen,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog the other day! I like your Thanksgiving Thursday - I'm at a bit of an impasse (Is that the word?) over what to post these days. Might have to use your idea! Little Chick is adorable :-)
Awesome that she is writing her name. My little one wrote the word pop out of nowhere the other day. The P's were backwards, but she did it. When I asked her where she learned that word, she said, "I learned it on Super Why." I guess some TV is good for something.
ReplyDeleteI think Little Chick is so lucky to have you. You always seem to enjoy even the smallest things in life with so much enthusiasm, I love your spirit!
ReplyDeleteI did my Thanksgiving Thursday, and I'm so happy I get to do it every week. (even though sometimes my Thanksgiving's may be silly :-D) You're an awesome bloggy friend; sincerely.
