simple tastes and mind content."
I think that stopping to give thanks is a way of humbling ourselves in order to view the blessings in our lives as a true gift and not something that we are owed. Not everyone has the same gifts. I want to remind myself that there are people who do not have the luxuries of my "problems". There is always someone who has it more difficult than me. I have known my share of pain and loss, but I have also been given a life filled with spectacular treasures in the people who surround me, the opportunities that have been given to me and the overall life that I live. I need this reminder so that I can be truly grateful!
The five things I am thankful for are:
1.) Little Chick and my family.
2.) Friends, both new and old, that are there for me and love me unconditionally.
3.) My ability to evaluate my actions and try to improve when and where I can.
4.) My never ending strength to get through things, no matter how difficult or how alone I might be.
5.) Rain after a long dry spell and for puddles that Little Chick can have fun jumping in to!
Hey everyone, please go and visit my great blog friend Ashlee at Love Comma Ashlee! She went through a rough patch as we all do sometimes and it would be so nice if we could show her some blog love! You will love her blog!
I wanna jump in those puddles right there with her :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot of water to splash in...how fun!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great week!
Big Fat Mama
You came along at a perfect time ... I needed a little reminder this week. Happy Thursday to you!
ReplyDeleteYour Thursday posts always make me smile. And think!
ReplyDeleteThank YOU for that.
Have a great Thursday!
xoxo
I think I need to let my kids run free and splash into water like that. Little Chick looks like she's having so much fun. I love your post, it really got me thinking about how grateful I should be for good health, a lovely family, my talents and skills and especially for my healthy and happy little family. Thanks for the lovely reminder :-)
ReplyDeleteExcellent!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder to be grateful.. I think I'm going to stop whining for a minute. lol.
ReplyDeleteOh love those pictures of Little Chick jumping in the puddle after rain! I love love love rain! I love the smell of it, I love the sight of dark rainy sky! Oh wow... I gotta blog about this! :P
ReplyDeleteBtw, I tried a fix today on the commenting problem. Appreciate if you could retry a comment when you are free! Thanks! :D
( I'm a full-time mummy )
Good things to be thankful for, especially that little one splashing through the water.
ReplyDeleteI love your thankful list! All of it, esp. #2,3,4! I'm joining in Thanksgiving Thursday too :)
ReplyDeleteBig rain puddles are the best!!
ReplyDeleteI've joined in Thanksgiving Thursday too!
ReplyDeleteI love your list. I just got a video clip on Facebook of some little cuties I adore splashing and laughing in puddles too.
Her smile is infectious. Love the idea of dedicating a day to thanksgiving, and not having to make a whole turkey. As moms we can so often forget what's good in our lives--we have much to be grateful for!
ReplyDeleteI love photos of kids jumping in puddles. It makes me want to dance in the rain. :) I am going to link back to Thanksgiving Thursday and your blog later on when I type up my post. I'll send you the link as soon as I can.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, that's a lot of rain! Looks like fun though. :)
ReplyDeleteI posted on my blog that once we have kids, every day is Mother's day. In essence every day should be Thanksgiving, too. I love the idea of taking time out once a week (as opposed to once a year in November) to remember all we have to be thankful for. I am thankful I'm a part of your inspirational blog world. Thank you, Mama Hen!-EW
ReplyDeleteJust LOVE the splashing in the water photo. That is so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for always reminding us to focus on Thankfulness! I appreciate it:)
ReplyDeleteYou are gorgeous! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the photos of your daughter. Especially the splashing one. I don't think you are ever too old to enjoy jumping in puddles! (I still do it all the time!)

ReplyDeleteLove the pictures! I just linked up for my first Thanksgiving Thursday! This was a good thing for me today! I was having one of "those days" today, and writing this list made me remember what I am thankful for!
ReplyDeleteYou're the best kind of mom if you let her splash in puddles to her heart's content. I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteHi Mama Hen,
ReplyDeleteNope, didn't get any email from you on my new blog. Sigh this is so frustrating. You're the 2nd person to ever so kindly to report this to me. I don't know whether there are anymore cases like you guys.
It's really weird-ing me out here cos others are able to post their comments but not you guys.
Do you mind telling me what web browser are you on (IE 6/7/8?) and you are accessing using laptop? PDA? etc? You can email me at:

Thank you very much & totally appreciates it!
Sorry I'm late! I'm following back via TAT!
ReplyDeleteThat's a huge puddle and a great list! I'm Thankful today too!

ReplyDeleteI've been so looking forward to reading your blog entries again. You have such a wonderful perspective on life! It's so refreshing and lovely. I've really missed reading your postings!
You can find my post here: http://lovecommaashlee.blogspot.com/2010/07/thanksgiving-thursday.html
Oooh...I'm jealous of your jumping in the water pictures! I've been waiting for my kids to do this, but seems like it's only raining (storming) in the middle of the night. Yesterday it was 100 degrees here and not a cloud in sight - yucky!
ReplyDeleteI had to smile at your comment; do you know I only have ONE picture up in my home that I have taken of my kids? I was just talking to my husband about that last night. The other pictures are done by professionals, and I was just saying...maybe I should put some of mine up in frames. Silly, huh!
I'm sorry, I don't know how to post a video on blogger...hmmm. Took me about a week to figure out how to post a picture - LOL! :-)
Hope you're having a great Thursday! Loved your post as always! ♥
She looks like she is having so much fun! It's only 115 degrees here today so those puddles look amazing. Love the photo of you as well. Thanks for the reminders...

Mama Hen you are humble and kind and your daughter will appreciate all that you do. And that puddle, my son does the same exact thing. I love the photos. <3
