Anyway, this week Crystal at We Aren't' Perfect gave out a new award called the Foxy Mama Award! Thank you so much Crystal! I am so excited and really happy to receive it. But I really have not felt "foxy" in a long time! Let's evaluate this.... I am really contientious about what Little Chick eats and I make sure that she gets as much nutrition as possible! But somewhere in mommy land I lost the structure I used to have for myself when it came to working out and eating right! You would think that with all the running around and climbing jungle gyms I do with Little Chick that I would be rather fit! Well, it is time to take the love handles and start taking much better care of myself. So I am going to begin a new regime after we get through all the birthday cake! Shall we say Monday?
Mama Hen after a few too many, hmmmmm, things in the cake family! So if you are in the same boat, and want to join me on this journey to "get healthy" then keep me posted! It is always good to have a partner!
I pass the Foxy Mama Award to:
Karli at The Bonnie 5, Wanda at At last We Are...Family, Kami at Yellow Kisses, Jinnia Low at Jinnia Low.com, Mommy at Twenty Little Toes, Carol Knee Deep in Mommahood, Lisa at Korean American Mommy, Adventures with Three Girls, Hannah at Our Happy Home, Our Precious Jas, Ella and Zoe, I'm a Full Time Mommy , Ingenue Mom, Maxabella Loves, Making Memories with the McClellens, Wilborn-White News, The Gruneisen Family News, TV's Take, A Practical Mom, A Drama Queen Housewife's Tale
You Foxy Mamas deserve this award! I could go on and on with adding super foxy sensational moms! The blogworld is filled with them! But now I have to spend some time with Little Chick.
Come join me for Thanksgiving Thursday! Grab my button and let me know so I can add your link!
It's okay, you still look great!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your award! And hey, you still look awesome!
ReplyDeleteyou look wonderful... I just got a tread mill from my sil rummage sale yesterday. Tomorrow morning I am going to start using it about 3 to 4 times a week until September and then 5 day a week after that.
ReplyDeleteKudos to you for recognizing you need to do it now. Don't wait another 20 years like I did! I'll be following your progress as I work at it myself.
ReplyDeletei feel you! i was just having this "after the birthday cake" diet as well. :) Elliot's birthday was today, so no more cake starting... tomorrow!
ReplyDeletethat said, you look beautiful right now!
You look great, stop worrying! Still Foxy. I need to lose about 200 pounds, but I still think I look terrific. Denial is a wonderful thing.
ReplyDeleteFollowing you back. ;D
ReplyDeleteI can fluctuate 30 lbs just in a change in medication. LOL!
You are BEAUTIFUL!! Later in life you'll look at pictures from today and wonder "What was I thinking? I looked GREAT!" ;D
I think back to when my mother called me "Chunky Cheers" when I was 108 lbs with a 22" waist as a cheerleader... I went anorexic and dropped to 93 lbs and continued to see myself as fat. (I'm only 5'1" so it's not as bad as it sounds... LOL!) I REALLY messed up my metabolism, though.
Just do what you can without worrying too much about it and just enjoy your daughter, as I see you DO! ((HUGS))
You really are a FOXY MAMA!!!
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with staying healthy and fit though, so I totally support you on that! I'll cheer you on with my poms poms from behind the scenes!!!
After the boards I'll be joining the fitness party!
I'm in Mamma Hen. I am already trying to get back in shape anyway and the more the merrier in terms of support I say. Come past for a visit and we can link up! I just posted on a crazy diet I was doing (it got the better of me!)

I think you fabulous! I am about 30lbs from my thin pre-pregnancy days and I told my husband the other day that this is it - I can't take it anymore! So I'm taking small steps every day to do something healthier - eating better, walking more, etc. It's going to be a long journey, but I need to lose the weight!
ReplyDeleteI think the before and after are both adorable. You look good either way - such a cutie!
ReplyDeleteCousin, I think you are beautiful! I really do, I wouldn't say so if I didn't - I have had my own ups and downs about my figure and dieting, but now that I'm in my thirties I have come to realize that a few extra kilos are not what determine how gorgeous one is! A few years ago weighed 6-7 kilos less and looked quite a bit thinner, but when I compare my pictures with what I look like now, I prefer how I look now!
ReplyDeleteI think that taking care of yourself is excellent, but as long as you are healthy and feel good, I wouldn't put number labels on it!

Good for you for trying to get healthy - it's a gift that you're not only giving yourself but also Little Chick, who will have a healthier and happier mama for much longer! I'm also in the get-healthy stage, and trying to lose 10 more pounds. It's hard but you can do it!
ReplyDeleteI totally could have written this post Mama Hen!!
ReplyDeleteI think I was thinner when Ella and Zoe were only THREE MONTHS OLD, and I gained over 80 pounds during my 29 1/2 week pregnancy!!!
I feed my girls really well too -- and we're constantly on the go, but my eating habits are pretty bad (I'm a snacker when the girls are sleeping and I'm terrible at portion control), and I've never been consistent with exercising. I'd love to hear what you're planning on doing -- I need to and want to make some changes too.
P.S
You still look FABULOUS, and I truly mean that!!
I am so excited you followed me over at ...and baby makes five! and even more excited I checked out your blog!! I too have gained weight but don't look nearly as good as you do! I wish you all the best on your journey and will be checking in and following your journey!! Congrats on your award! :D
ReplyDeleteWe're all teaming up in my Blog Frog community and doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. We just started this week, in case you are interested in joining us!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous. But good for you. Best wishes with your new regimen.
ReplyDeleteThere is a Foxy Mama in the Hen House - ha! Just some early morning humor for you. You do look great but I know the feeling. It seems as though my baby belly is coming back - this is not a kind thing my body is doing. Best of luck on your renewed fitness outlook. Happy Wednesday
ReplyDeleteThanks for following! Following you back now.

you look fine...stop worrying!
ReplyDeleteIf you make just one change, let it be to eat less processed food. Stick to the perimeter of the grocery store and you'll be amazed what a difference it makes!
Mama Hen, you are the sweetest! I'll take my Foxy Mama award, thank you very much! ;-) May I say (and I'm not just saying this)... I think you look better in the 2nd picture. I really do. I wouldn't mention it if I didn't really mean it. I was just having a conversation with my husband last weekend, and I was saying if I was a guy, I wouldn't think someone like myself was very attractive. Who wants to be with a bunch of bones! LOL!
ReplyDeleteIn the 2nd picture, you look healthy, happy, your cheeks are rosy; you look AWESOME! And I know you are health-conscious, so I think you look GREAT! Thanks so much for the award my friend! :-)
Okay, I was so busy reading about your healthy kick that I didn't even notice that you awarded me! Thank you so much Mama Hen! I hope your day is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWell....you still look awesome but I understand the need to be healthy and the fear that too much is creeping on. You do what you need to do!
ReplyDeleteGee, I don't know what to say about your award for me. Foxy is not a word I've heard for awhile but thanks. I'll use it to inspire me to get rid of my ???? extra luggage. To be healthy of course. (ahem)
Happy Wednesday.
xoxo
Thank you so much for the award! I think you look great! Good for you, though, if you're not feeling it to get back in shape. And good for Little Chick too, seeing her Mama taking good care of herself. I'm in with you for sure. Ten more pounds of baby weight to go. Just what I need to get motivated. :)
ReplyDeleteOh thank you for the award!
ReplyDeleteI think you look great, but I know the feeling...
ReplyDeleteI am heavier than I ever thought I could even get in my lifetime!!
unfortunately I have a disc bulging in my back and unable to be as active as I'd like ( thats the reason for most of my weight gain ) and I suck at food discipline...lol...Let's just be honest....I like crap!! lol
I'm supposed to have surgery on my back but am chicken..lol...
anyway...Im rambling....just wanna say I think you look great...but I know how it feels when you are used to looking a certain way and don't anymore...I personally find it quite depressing actually..lol
Good for you for wanting to start a new regimen and setting a start date. You definitely need a few days to mentally prepare for big changes! I think you look fabulous but it's YOU that needs to feel good about yourself. My mom always told me that if I didn't mind going up a pants size each year to keep doing what I was doing. But if I did mind going up a pants size, it was up to me to do something about it. I think she would look at herself and not want what happened to her to happen to me. It was advice that I have always kept in the back of my mind when the jeans get a little tight! Now go have one more piece of cake, because those days are numbered! LOL
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous, girlfriend. If I were you, I'd put on a slinky black something and go celebrate.
ReplyDeleteYou look absolutely fantastic. You're still a foxy mama!
ReplyDeleteWhenever I complain about wanting to lose a few pounds my kids tell me I look like a mother should. I guess they don't want to have a foxy mama! LOL
You've given me food for thought. There's a belly dancing studio around the corner from my new house and I've always wanted to learn to belly dance - don't know why. But I need less of a belly to do it! New house has a sauna in the workshop so my husband is going to turn 1/2 of it into a gym for my with my treadmill and weights and 1/2 into a workshop/disappear-when-theres-too-many-people-in-my-house place for him.
I have no excuse!!!
Thanks for the award Mama Hen! I'm with you! I am 3 days in to the South Beach diet, and not because I am "fat" but because my clothes dont' fit right and I eat like crap and want to have more energy which starts with diet and nutrition. Let's motivate each other! Game on!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Foxy Mama Award! I don't feel very deserving but I'll take it where I can get it :-)
ReplyDeleteOh I have always thought of you as beautiful. And the first picture of you with Little Chick is the sweetest!
ReplyDeleteYour post so made me laugh!. I can totally relate. I was almost done shedding the 50 lbs worth twin babies weight and now I find myself getting back to where I started. I am really giving in to the pregnancy cravings.
But, you know, I just think that this will be the only point in my life when I can eat and NOT feel guilty about it so, why let this go by?
I'll gym away later:)
And thank you so much for the award. You are the sweetest:)
ReplyDeleteYou're beautiful, inside and out! I do know you mean though, Mama Hen. Exercise seems to be one of the first things that go out the window when we have kids! I've let myself slide this summer and have noticed a belly that I want to stuff back into my pants. Hmmm...I think exercising would be a better idea. I may start joining you.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this award! It's nice to have a title like Foxy Mama to inspire us :)
Oops...I meant to say, "I do know what you mean though, Mama Hen."
ReplyDeleteI think you look fabulous! I have been in the same boat lately (realized that I have been slowly gaining over the last year). Now I am back to my old self, trying to make the smart choices. But I had to give myself a break in the last year - I was so tired and dealing with a lot and not myself. Now I am ready to make changes and it is exciting. You will too!
ReplyDeleteLove this post! You're so funny and excuse me ma'am, you look awesome yesterday and today! I love exercising but it is hard trying to stay at the top of your game, so I understand where you're coming from (even though you STILL look great).
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for the reward Mama Hen, What an awesome award, "foxy', ah love it!
Thank you Mama Hen! Oh my, if you don't know, I gained 70 lbs with Christopher. And still have yet to lose all of it. I'm 20 pounds over weight! haha. Its not easy because I love to eat. Especially baked goodies (= Thanks so much for the award. I'll try to post healthier meals on my blog but can't promise on the baked goodies. Baked goods need butter and sugar keke (=
ReplyDeleteAnd by the way, you look fabulous! I think we're all a bit more critical of ourselves. Smooches (=
Good luck with your new weight loss regimen. It is so hard to take the time to take care of ourselves when motherhood is our main priority. But, just like on the airplane, we have to put our own oxygen mask on first then help our little ones because otherwise we would all suffer. Sounds like you know what you have to do, and you have a lot of support here in your blog world. My daughter is a bit heavier than she should be, so I'd love to read about exercise tips and whatever weight loss ideas you come up with. -EW
ReplyDeleteI hear you girlfriend! I watch Little Lewie's diet all the time, but somewhere along the way, I haven't been careful about my own eating habits. Still, you look absolutely gorgeous in your photos...sometimes, I think we're are our own worst critics. Thanks for the follow. I'm following you back, and I'm grabbing your button for Thankful Thursday! Have a great day! http://mommyspirit.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this award! I am just now starting my journey in loosing these last pesky 20 lbs of "baby weight" LOL. Speaking of I should probably go work out! I hope you are having a great weekend and thank you again for thinking of me!
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing your award with me Mama Hen! Looking at your photos, i see a beautiful person inside and out! thank you for taking time out reading my blog and commenting..i feel blessed to have you as a friend here.. =)
ReplyDeleteComing over from Mom Blogger's Club:) Became a follower. Look forward to reading your posts:D
ReplyDeleteYou can do it! It is a constant journey, but I know you can stick with it :-)
ReplyDeleteI think you look pretty fabulous in all of the above pictures.
ReplyDeletethanks for thinking of me!!
ReplyDeleteI was so busy chastising you for thinking you were no longer foxy just because you'd put on a couple of pounds, I didn't notice you'd awarded me. Thank you thank you! I love your blog and am so happy you love mine back. x
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog and becoming a follower. I'm now following you. LOVE your blog, and might I add that you look just beautiful in all your photos. I don't think you need to worry about a few added pounds...they look GREAT on you! :) Your little chic is precious too!!! What a cutie pie! I'm looking forward to getting to know you!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Lynn

Thank you Mama Hen for my "Foxy Mama" award. You are too funny! However, I really appreciate the blog love! Being "foxy" is something I really need to work at. Maybe this will be a self-fulfilling prophecy ;-). -EW
ReplyDeleteMama Hen, I just got my power back! Finally had the chance to read some and saw my award! Thanks so much you Foxy Mama, right back at ya! I'm doing Thanksgiving Thursday---late I know but it is still Thursday!
ReplyDeleteI think that you look great but I will join you on the journey! Monday it is. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you could afford a few pounds, Mama. I know the feeling... I was always so fit and since I turned 40... well, it just doesn't come as easy. But you DO look fantastic and deserve the Foxy Mama award! It's all about feeling good about ourselves and how we look though. I am working on my fitness too! ;-)
