Dance As Though No One Is Watching

"Dance as though no one is watching you, love as though you have never been hurt before, sing as though no one can hear you, live as though heaven is here on earth." ~Souza
It is such a blessing to have my mom live only five minutes away! She is such a huge part of Little Chick's life. We look forward to her visits all of the time. When Little Chick gets a boo boo she always asks for her Omi (grandmom in German). So we call her and she feels better immediately. Yesterday Grandma Hen came by for dinner and read some books afterwards. Then Little Chick said, "Let's dance!" She grabbed my moms hand and Pooh bear and they danced the early evening away! If you were a fly on the wall you would have giggled at how silly we all looked, but we sure had fun! I am so grateful to have such an amazing grandmommy for my Little Chick!

  1. When we were growing up we lived 2 days drive away from all of our grandparents and only saw them at Christmas time. So it is a joy of mine that my LOML's parents are 10 mins drive away and they care for the tsunamis every Thursday and Friday. It's a relationship that is golden. We are so lucky.

  4. Look at those eyes and cheeks. I can see Little Chick in her Grandma Hen's face. What a blessing to have family nearby. I live less than 2 miles from my Mom, and all of my siblings live in town, too. It is truly a blessing to have love and support anytime I need it. My grandmother recently moved in with my parents, so we have an added generation of family history and wisdom to tap into. I am blessed beyond belief! So are you and Little Chick and Grandma Hen, but I don't need to tell you that. Have a great night. -EW

  6. How absolutely sweet! My mom also lives 5 miles away from us but she is busier than a 17 year old so we only see her a few times a month, which is better than once a year. Thanks for sharing photos of the big dance :-)

  8. Cute! I so wish that my mom didn't live an 8 hour drive from us. I only get to see her a couple times a year now as it is. It's going to be so tough when we have a child.

Little Chick is so lucky to have her grandma so close by!

  12. I WISH my daughter's grandparents were as close. It really hurts them that they are so far apart. We live waaay across the country and believe me, we've racked up a lot of airline miles both ways. I dream of one day relocating to be closer to family. Sigh.

  14. How lovely and incredibly sweet. You are so lucky to have your mom live so close to you. My in-laws live in TX (we're in CA) and my parents live in Europe. No quick visits to read some stories here. It's a shame.

Hey, I have a question: I started a new initiative on my blog and would love your feedback if you can. Thanks in advance:
