~Mama Hen
Thanksgiving Thursday is my day of reflection and outward gratitude to the many blessings bestowed upon me daily. I struggle with the fact that time has a way of slipping by in chunks as I get older and I really like taking the time out in my week to focus only on the gifts that surround me. Here is my list of five things I am thankful for:
1.) Little Chick and my family.
2.) For the ability to be a stay home mom. It has always been my dream and I am so appreciative that financially I am able to do so.
3.) My legs. I have bad knees and they may hurt more often than not, but I am able to walk, sprint, jump and climb jungle gyms with Little Chick. That is a true blessing!
4.) For the want and desire to accomplish so much while here on this great earth. I am in awe of all that is out in the world to see, explore and learn about. My thirst to see God's gifts inspires my soul!
5.) My love of a vast genre of music from around the world. Music has a way of transporting me to places in time that have brought me an abundance of joy! Little Chick and I love to turn on some great tunes and dance!
I LOVE your #4. My philosophy for certain!
ReplyDeleteGreat list of thankfulness!
ReplyDeleteToday at a park- I pondered upon your #4... even in a town that I've lived in my whole life- there are still treasures to be found!!!
:)
I know it sounds trite to keep repeating that we're thankful for our health and strength, but they are definitely worth being grateful for. I'm thankful for the days I have more energy than others just to get through the basics. It's a lot easier to be thankful when we view each day God gives us as a new and special gift, isn't it? I love that you and Little Chick enjoy music and dancing-aching knees and all! Have a good night. -EW
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful list! Happy Thursday!
ReplyDeleteThe rewind button and Thanksgiving Thursdays are two things I should do more often. Time is going by way to fast. I'm realizing this more and more. My 3 year old daughter will be starting preschool in a few weeks. I feel like someone pressed the fast forward button.

I am doing Thanksgiving Thursday with you! I have really come to love Thursdays, it gives me a really good perspective on my life, especially on those days or weeks when things aren't always going so smoothly. It is so important to remember all the wonderful things we are blessed with, big and little! I hope you have a wonderful week! We are off to go camping tomorrow, I am so excited!
ReplyDeleteI like what you said about being thankful for your legs, even though they hurt. I have rods in my back from a car accident, and I'm often sore, but I try hard to have that same grateful attitude that I am still able to walk at all!! Thanks for the reminder, it's been a long week :) Will try to hop in on Thankful Thursday soon!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on #2 and I thank God for helping us through our financial situations! :D
ReplyDeleteI am definitely thankful for #2 as well! It's great to take a moment and remember that to even have the choice to stay home is a privilege that not everyone has. I'm so thankful to have the opportunity to shape Georgia in the way that I think is best.
ReplyDeletesweet and thoughtful list!
ReplyDeletei also try really hard to just take in what's around me and allow my time to bask ....... especially with my girls : )
i don't want to put any extra work on your end, but i'm having a hard time actually joining your nestwork. does it appear that i'm signed up on your end? my husband has been on vacation the past few days so i haven't been on the computer as much, but at some point today i plan on adding your button to my blog and commenting on the two posts already written. thanks for the continued help : )
those are awesome list to be thankful for!
ReplyDeleteI think I just did it (signed on appropriately)! Will need to head back later to read more and comment ..... whew!!
ReplyDeleteI love to listen to music with my boys too! I love to dance, I think I torture my husband by making him dance with me in our kitchen at least twice a week :) Happy Thursday!
ReplyDeleteThose would also be on my list. God's blessings never cease to amaze me. He is so generous!
ReplyDeleteLove your quote, that gratitude is also a way of rejuvenating the soul! It's amazing what stopping to give thanks does on the inside. So neat how you love a vast genre of music...
ReplyDeleteI love how you take the time to do this every week. I'm sure it helps create a more thankful spirit within you all the time because of it!
ReplyDeleteGREAT list!
ReplyDeleteI have Jillian's 30 day shred and I really do like it because the workouts are intense 20 minutes each. So, it is quick. But effective. (You had asked me at my site what workout video I use). :)
ReplyDeleteI never thought about being thankful for my legs - I have bad knees too so running isn't an option. Thanks for putting it in perspective that at least I can walk and play with KLV. Happy TH!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for God working in my life. I realized I can do great things.
ReplyDeleteAww Mama Hen! What a great list to be thankful for. I too love music and its the universal communicator. Keep on dancing and loving your lil chick!
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you have the ability to be a stay at home mom. My mother was too and I hope that when I'm ready to have kids one day I can be there all the time as well!!
ReplyDelete#5- That was on my list tonight as well. I love how music can fill a room and fill a soul with so much energy! Great list Mama H.!
ReplyDeleteI am so incredibly thankful to be able to stay at home as well. It is such a blessing! Happy Thursday Mama Hen! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Mama Hen! I have felt so removed from the bloggy world since we've been out of town so much! I really resonate with most of these wonderful things to be thankful for! I have a bad knee, and just recently hurt it while we were hiking on vacation. It stinks, but I'm so glad it's not any worse and that I'm able to keep up with my boys!! :)
ReplyDeleteSo thankful to be able to stay home with my daughter, Anya Mae. She is five months old, and I have loved watching her grow, learn, and explore the world around her. Have a wonderful Thursday Mama Hen :)
