~Mama Hen
Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful and to state what you give thanks for. I believe that we should celebrate Thanksgiving every day! There are so many things to add on to our blessings list daily. Here are my five:
1.) Little Chick and my family.
2.) Kindhearted people who give of themselves without asking in return. They are the strength and hope that makes the world go round. In a self consumed world they may be rare, but they exist. A huge thank you to my many blogging friends who commented on my post yesterday about my Daddy! Your kindness and empathy is so appreciated!
3.) For windy days and cool nights. I love opening the windows at night and sleeping to the sound of the rustling of leaves in the wind, crickets chirping and cool fresh air whisking in.
4.) Thank you for the lessons learned and strength it takes to overcome the bumps in the road.
5.) For the time I shared with an incredible Daddy! I know that it was a precious gift. I am truly blessed.
I love your thanksgiving thursday posts each week...makes me stop, take a deep breathe and appreciate all of the wonderful blessings in my life as well :)
ReplyDeleteThanks and have a great Thursday!! Your Dad would be SO proud of the daugther he has raised!
I always love reading your Thanksgiving Thursdays! kindhearted people really do make the world go round! Your post about your dad really got me thinking about how sometimes just the littlest gestures like listening to a speech can be something that will end up being a cherished moment forever! It really moved me! I hope you are having a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteMe too. I love opening the windows at night and feeling that breeze. Have to have fresh air at night. (Even in winter!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding me to always be thankful. Have a wonderful day!
:)
I love your Thanksgiving posts! You are one of those kindhearted people who give of themselves! You're attentive to others and their needs, and you take the time to listen. It's rare, and sparkles like a precious jewel. I'm doing Thanksgiving Thursday too!
ReplyDeleteI love cool nights too. Hearing all the night sounds with a nice breeze drifting through...makes sleeping so nice!
ReplyDeleteI love to be nice and cool when I sleep too! I read your post from yesterday and you are truly blessed that your last memory with your dad is such a great one!
ReplyDeleteGreat thanksgiving list. So nice to be reminded of all these things. Hope you are having a great day
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for kind-hearted people. I've been dealing with so much negativity this past week and I really wish there were more of them in the world right about now.
ReplyDeleteAt least it is making me want to be an even NICER person to make up for it.
Happy Thursday to you and your Little Chick!
Thanks for following my blog! I'm following you back and looking forward to reading! :)

I too love being able to open the windows when the weather cools down a bit!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right!!! Every day is a present and we should be thankful every day for the gifts that we have received and the blessings that have come our way. It's so easy to get caught up with the busi-ness of day to day living and to forget how wonderful life is. Thanks so much for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteHi mama hen,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your sweet comment on my blog!
This is such a great idea. Not just for blogging but also for raising children! To sit and remember what your thankful for. I went to a private school growing up and they reminded us every morning to take 5 and thank God for our blessings at night before bed. It was such a great thing to teach us. I really forgot about the practice until I read this.

Hi, Mama Hen-joining a little late, but I finally posted my Thanksgiving Thursday list, too! I look forward to weather that's cool enough to turn off the a/c and open up the windows. This morning was actually nice. I'm also thankful for the openmindedness to learn from life's bumps in the road instead of complaining every time I hit one. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteLove your reminders about gratefulness! Life's much fuller when we appreciate the people around us! =)
ReplyDeleteSO true! Love this!
ReplyDeleteI am SO JEALOUS that you are able to open the windows and let in a cool breeze! We have about three more months until we will get a cool breeze. By the way- the rain finally stopped (for today at least!) Great list!
ReplyDeletePerfect list! Sorry it took me a while to catch up. I was on a plane for 12 hours yesterday and it took me forever to get used to the time zones! I was a zombie all day, but completely back to normal now.
ReplyDeleteThe post on your father was so moving. It made me want to reach out to mine.
