This Cherished Moments Monday I am including three photographs that mean the world to me. The first picture shows my grandmother as a little girl with her mother. My great grandmother had a very difficult life and my grandmother also had to endure the results of it. To the very end of my grandmother's life, she talked about how much she loved her mother and missed her so. She and I were very close and the way she felt about her mom is how I feel daily about not having my Dad any longer. I know my great grandmother is in a much better place and is able to live in peace and happiness, which she deserved so much when she was here on earth. The second photograph is my grandmother and my mom. Wasn't she cute! And the last one is of Little Chick and myself. I don't have any professional pictures of us and now wish I had some taken in the past. Have a great Monday!
Oh I just love seeing old pictures like these....I will be thinking of my mom tomorrow (monday) as well as she turns 60!

Pictures like these are priceless. I wish I had a collection like that...I have some informal ones of my grandmother, but none of my great grandmother. I love reading about your family history!

ReplyDeleteAren't those photographs so precious to you! When we become parents ourselves, I think the connections to the past, our heritage, become more important to us. How wonderful that you have those photos! Your mother looks like a little doll in that photograph! How sweet.

I love looking at old family pictures! There's a really strong family resemblance! How lucky for Little Chick that you have these, and she can see pictures of her great-great grandmother. It really is a cherished moment.
ReplyDeleteI love your grandmother and great grandmother photos. I can appreciate how much you treasure these and the time you spent with your family. In our busy lives I forgot to cherish such time and spent too much time on the iPhone during car rides. My daughter starts to play games on the iPhone now and has been asking for an iPod of her own because her cousins have one.
ReplyDeleteEven without the professional photos - they are still important. I wish I had taken more.
ReplyDeleteI love the photos! These are great, and how wonderful that you have these for Little chick to see and enjoy! Now you need to go and get a professional photo of you and little chick to add to the collection, it is never to late! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteLoving the time line of photographs! So special!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! What a great post to save for Chick...
ReplyDeleteNice Pictures
ReplyDeleteI LOVE looking at old pictures! So much history there! I found a picture of my mom with her mother (my grandma) a few years ago and had it blown up to a 5x7 because I just loved it! I gave a copy to my mom for mother's day and kept one for myself! It's so special to have pictures like that to look back on!

The pictures are just beautiful! I'm your newest follower from MBC. Your blog is great! Keep in touch!
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful pics. I can see the difficulty of your great-grandmother's life etched on her face. Your mother is so darling as a little girl. I know what you mean about the professional pics, but I think there's a lot to be said for pictures that are not posed, that are more about how we live today. I've done one professional photo session with our family and wasn't happy with the results - too staged and formal and the girls have grumpy faces!
ReplyDeleteOh, these are so precious! It's so nice how you appreciate the generations before you. I love your picture with Little Chick, casual and engaging :) Hope you have a great night!
ReplyDeleteStopping by to say hi! Thanks so much for your encouraging comments on my site! Hope you're doing great :)
ReplyDeleteI love looking @ old photos. Great pics.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you have these photographs, that they survived the years and were passed down. What a treasure! It's not too late. You should get those professional photos with Little Chick NOW. In 10 years, she'll still seem so little when she was 4, so go now...do it! Keep adding to your family history.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this post! Hope all is well mama!
ReplyDeleteI love old photos! And I love seeing the progression with Little Chick. Thank you for coming by my blog, I'm glad you found me!
