I had to stop the car and save some more furry friends. I was driving on a fast very busy road again when I saw a few cars ahead of me slow down from both directions. I slowed down and saw two little dogs in the middle of the road. I got out of the car and was astonished to see that one of the dogs was the spitting image of my fourteen year old dog who got loose and was hit by a car and died this past year. This dog was the exact same size, color, breed, and unbelievably had the same face. I gathered the two dogs and got them to a side road where they then went into a driveway. I got in my car and parked in that same driveway. I went to the door and knocked. A woman answered and I told her that her dogs were in the middle of the main road. She said thank you and went to go back inside. I told her that they could have been killed and she said that she did not hear any cars stop suddenly. I was in shock. What? I said she should put a leash on them to keep them safe and she said thanks and good bye. I got in my car to back out of the driveway and there they were again walking in the driveway. I had told this woman about losing my dog who looked exactly like her one dog, yet she still let them loose in the road. I would give anything to change how my beautiful loving dog passed on. I wasn't as fortunate to have someone bring him back to my door.

Irresponsible pet owners make me so upset. I think that there are, unfortunately, people who don't take the idea of adopting a pet seriously. When someone adopts an animal into their home, they are promising to care and love that animal, whatever that might mean. And I'm also not a fan of letting your dog out of a fenced area without a leash. We have a neighbor who has a rambunctious rottweiler who's always standing in our road, barking at everyone. She's friendly, but she can be scary to Georgia.
ReplyDeleteYour dog was so cute. I can believe how irresponsible some people are with their pets and that the lady didn't seem the least bit phased that her dogs were in the street...so sad!!
ReplyDeleteYou have been awarded the “One Lovely Blog Award” on my blog.

I can't believe that woman! At least act like your responsible in front of the woman that just saved your dogs... wow! Again, you did the right thing but I would have been so tempted to put those dogs back in my car and drive away! She doesn't deserve them.
ReplyDeleteoh that makes me so sad. You are saving her dog-she should be giving you a hug and cooking you dinner :) Instead she was rude and does not deserve that little dog if you ask me! ughhhh, why do people buy pets if they don't 100% want them? They MUST be willing to love them completely and sounds like she wasn't too excited that her puppy came home safe, SO SAD. sorry that happened to you...
ReplyDeleteOOh.. loving our furry friends is just one of the many subjects that are near and dear to my heart and I find the hardest to write about. It just touches me sooo much.
ReplyDeleteI am a HUGE animal rights advocate and irresponsible pet owners or abusers really fire me up.
I would have been very tempted to load those little pooches up in my car and hit the road. Nothing much makes me angrier than animal abuse or neglect.
ReplyDeleteI wish more people took better care of their pets. Thanks for commenting on my MBC page. I'm glad I found your blog and look forward to reading more.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, your dog was precious! So very sad to think how some owners (don't) care for their pets. Make me so sad to know that some children are treated the same way.
ReplyDeleteThank you ALWAYS for your sweet, sweet comments, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! :-)
The photographs are gorgeous!! I cannot get over how miserable and ungrateful some people are. It makes me sick!!!!
ReplyDeleteBe glad you had so many years with your furry baby. He loves you and will always be with you.
Aww! What a cutie! I'm sure he is missed.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes don't understand why people have pets if they could care less about them or don't take care of them properly.
Animals need love & care.
bless your heart
ReplyDeleteDon't you want to rescue every single animal out there who is not being treated well! My husband came home from work and told me about a dog he saw at a job site. The dog was a Shepherd, but really, really skinny. Why? Why do people even have animals if they're not going to take care of them! Dogs and cats are totally, helplessly dependent upon our care. They respond so to the slightest love and encouragement. I have two dogs lying at my feet as I write this! (and almost everywhere else I go) :-)
ReplyDeleteYou are a wonderful person for trying to help. I am a animal lover, I can not imagine letting my sweet dog just run.
ReplyDeleteWOW - good for you for helping those little furry guys yet again. I don't understand why some people have pets - I also don't understand why some people are allowed to have children but we won't get into that here. Thanks for dropping by this am. Cheers to David Gray!
ReplyDeleteYour love and responsibility shine through for helping those pets. It's unfortunate the lady wasn't aware of the danger they were in - and very sad she wasn't more appreciative of your help! You did your good part! Hope you have a great day.
ReplyDeleteWanted to stop by to invite my favorite Mama Hen to stop by and check out our giveaway for $50.00 in boutique goodies!

You are such a great person for returning these dogs, I only hope the owner realizes her mistake and keeps them safer! I am sorry to hear about your dog!
ReplyDeleteCan I just say...SOME PEOPLE!! What in the world? Sometimes people just shock me. You're sweet to stop and help her little dogs. I hope they stay safe!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sad story!! She should know how lucky she is that you stopped (unlike anyone else!!!) to help her dogs. I really thought you were going to say you dognapped her dogs as you were leaving! LOL Not that that would've been the best thing to do, but I seriously don't know how you refrained! I'm so sorry about Cuddles...I have 3 dogs that are like my children & dread the day we have to say goodbye!
ReplyDeleteGAH! Pet owners like that make me so angry! Well done to you for being a good friend and getting them safely home, and for speaking up to the irresponsible owner.
ReplyDeleteI will never understand people like that! That is so sad and I feel bad for those little dogs! It was good that you spoke up and said something, it is just unfortunate that some people just don't listen or care!
ReplyDeletePeople who don't take care of their pets as though they are members of the family make me angry. Animals may not be able to speak, but they are still lives. And adopting a pet means that you are taking on the responsibilities of providing for and protecting them as though they are toddlers. If they aren't up for that, they shouldn't have pets.
ReplyDeleteHow sad. I hope those dogs are safe. I know where you are coming from. Our beauutiful Cocker Spaniel Mix was killed 7 years ago by a car hitting her. Our family was heartbroken and we still miss that sweet little animal.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are able to find peace about your little furry one.
