"Thank you Dear God for the strength You give when we are faced with long days, long nights and worry."
~Mama Hen
Once again I want to say a big thank you to all of you caring blogger friends who have made such encouraging and kind comments. I really appreciate it! We just returned from the hospital and it was a terrible experience for Little Chick! She has difficult veins like me and it was extremely painful! To watch my baby in so much pain and hysterical was more than I could take! She is home now sleeping and I hope she will feel better in the morning. Here are my five things that I am grateful for this week:
1.) Little Chick and my family.
2.) Cuddly Pooh Bear and Pooh DVD's that help Little Chick laugh while feeling so sick.
3.) For Popsicles when my little daughter is in need of hydration.
4.) Insurance in a time of sickness and for caring doctors.
5.) For my friend Diane who continually goes out of her way to help out. She is a true friend and has been so kind and generous during this long period of illness.

When putting my daughter to bed tonight, I thought of Little Chick. I gave Ella extra hugs, and told her we needed to remember a friends little girl, and hope that she is feeling better. Ella looked at me with such concern ... Little Chick got extra prayers tonight, for sure. Be well - and get yourself some rest, too.
ReplyDeleteOh my! I know exactly what you are talking about, with the bad veins. When Myles was around 18 months he got a really bad cold that seriously dehydrated him. We had to take him to the emergency room and it took them poking him 6 times before they could get a I.V in him! That was horror! I hope Lil Chick feels better soon! Your list is so true, those are all really great things to be thankful for!
ReplyDeleteThat has got to be the hardest thing to watch...eek! My heart goes out to you and LC. I've been thinking about and praying for you both and will continue to. So glad your friend Diane is helping out so much during this difficult time. Hang in there, Mama Hen.
ReplyDeleteIt is very painful and heart aching to see your child being subjected to injections and all sorts of things. Reminded me of the time Ben had jaundice at 5 days old. Poor thing!
ReplyDeletePraying for Little Chick's speedy recovery!
I certainly hope the IV medications and fluids are helping revitalize our Little Chick (that's not meant in a weird, stalky sort of way, but only to emphasize that she and her smiles are a big part of our blog family). I hope that seeing positive results in Little Chick will help you rest better, too. Hugs, E

You are amazing...able to give thanks on Thursday and uplift and inspire others during such a difficult time in your own life.
ReplyDeletePositive thoughts, prayers, and hugs headed your way.
So much tougher to watch this happen to your little one than to bear the pain on your own. Hope she's back on her feet soon.
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to watch little ones in pain. My daughter had to get an IV when she was almost two and they wrapped her in a blanket so she couldn't move before they poked her...it was heart wrenching. I know that feeling of helplessness. I hope she feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteYou list this week is definitely relevant...even in trying times, there are still plenty of blessings to be thankful for!
And I, for one, am grateful that in the hard times, we can all be there for each other's encouragement. I'm still praying for you and Little Chick. Get well soon, Little Chick! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'll be praying for Little Chick to heal and I'm so glad that she came home and was getting some much needed sleep!
